Artist Statement
My artistic process is deeply rooted in self-reflection and solitude, those quiet moments when the noise of the outside world fades and I can truly listen to myself. In my studio, usually with music flowing through my headphones, I’m able to lose myself in the process and allow intuition to take the lead. I need that breathing room, time, stillness, and space to play, because it’s in those moments of calm that my most honest work emerges. Just as my paintings capture fleeting moments of introspection, my practice mirrors that same stillness, offering a space to explore, experiment, and fully immerse myself in creation.
Energy plays a quiet but defining role in my work. I’m deeply attuned to the unseen, how we absorb energy from our surroundings and from one another, and how those subtle shifts can shape our emotions, our relationships, and our sense of self. It’s the feeling you get when you walk into a room and immediately sense its atmosphere, or the unspoken exchange between people that lingers long after a moment has passed. These intangible experiences inform the mood of my work, guiding my use of color, composition, and form in ways that are meant to be felt just as much as they are seen.
Growing up in Los Angeles, I developed a deep connection to nature, the vastness of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, and the rhythm of the city. These elements carry their own distinct energy and presence, naturally weaving their way into my work and influencing my visual language. My paintings blend surrealism with serene, contemplative compositions, balancing the familiar with the dreamlike. I invite viewers into a space suspended between reality and reverie, where time softens, energy settles, and emotions have room to surface.
At its core, my work is about capturing the quiet beauty within the ordinary, the fleeting, in-between moments that often go unnoticed yet hold profound depth. Those are the moments that matter most to me. As much as my art is a gift to the world, offering a sense of peace, calm, and reflection, it is also a gift to myself. It keeps me balanced, grounded, and connected to my own inner stillness. In a world that constantly moves, I offer a pause, a breath, and an invitation to become more aware of the energies we carry, share, and leave behind, rediscovering the subtle, powerful emotions that connect us all.
